Our mentoring approach unites the powerful mentoring elements present in Clubs with formal mentoring practices and research/evidence-based prevention programs. MBGC provides a combination of one-on-one, group, and peer mentoring services. Mentoring is site-based and provided by Club staff, volunteers, and peers, with ongoing efforts to recruit minority male mentors.
Our Community Mentors
Alex has been a part of Hartford Knights since a young age. Being the son of the Executive Director, it was a no-brainer, he would be part of the program as a youngster and become a mentor as a young man.
Alfred joined HKYO in 2019 with an Child Development Associate Degree and years working with children at various organizations. He began his teaching career with the Community Renewal Team.
Jahmal has been mentoring youth for many years. He joined HKYO this year as a seasoned mentor who has worked at several community based organizations.
Ernie is our latest addition to HKYO, he is joining us as a Mentor to transport youth to and from their destinations.
